Every engagement ring we make carries a story we only partly get to see. Now and then, a couple sends the ending back to us — and it’s the best part of this work. This is one of those stories, shared with love and without names.
A ring made for one person
It began the way these commissions always do: with someone who knew exactly who he was designing for, even before he knew quite what he wanted. Over a series of conversations, a picture emerged — a ring to suit her hand, her eye, and the particular way the two of them love each other. We refined it, sketched it, modeled it, and made it by hand, holding our breath a little the way we always do when a piece is destined for a moment like this.

A ring begins as a single idea, for one person.
The midnight sun
He took it far north, to Alaska, where the summer sun refuses to set and the light lingers well past midnight. There, in that endless golden hour — near eleven at night, the sky still glowing — he asked. She said yes. Not long after, she wrote to us: “I absolutely love the ring.”
We think about that a lot: a piece that left our studio as metal and stone, standing at the center of the most important question of two people’s lives, thousands of miles from here, under a sun that wouldn’t go down.
The people behind the pieces
Hers is one of many. Every custom engagement ring we make is tied to someone we’ve come to know, and to a moment we’re being trusted to help create — a question asked under a tower lit against the night, on a beach at sunset, beneath a mountain, in a quiet garden far from home. To take part in one of the best days of a person’s life is an honor we never take lightly.

Tokyo, at dusk.

Beneath Mount Fuji.

A quiet garden in London.

And, some time later — the wedding.
Why we don’t take it lightly
An engagement ring isn’t worn once. It’s worn every day, for decades — through everything a marriage becomes. That is the weight we feel at the bench. Our job is to make the best possible piece: one that helps the person wearing it rise to the moment, and one the person receiving it will treasure for a lifetime. When we’ve done our part well, the ring stops being an object at all and simply becomes part of their story.

A ring meant to be worn for a lifetime.
Thank you
To every couple who has trusted us with a moment like this — thank you. It never stops meaning the world to us. And if you’re beginning to imagine a ring for someone, we’d love to hear about them.

To every couple who let us be part of their story — thank you.
